SOURCE Pooled normal human serum/plasma that has been tested negative for HBsAg, anti-HIV-1/2 and anti-hepatitis C on a single donor basis.
PRESENTATION Frozen liquid in 0.05 M sodium phosphate buffer, pH 7.0, containing 0.09% sodium azide, 0.2μm filtered.
PURITY Nominally between 40 – 90% of the protein is Complement component C4c.
ANALYSIS

Concentration determined by Radial immunodiffusion (RID) in the range 20-50mg/ml

Cellulose acetate electrophoresis to show one band only with β1-electrophoretic mobility.

Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis (PAGE) to show one band only, corresponding to the molecular weight of C4c.

Total protein determined by Lowry method and optical density at 280nm.

Purity defined as C4c content determined by Radial immunodiffusion (RID) as a percentage of Total protein by Lowry
