DISEASE STATE TESTING
Serum from the pituitary gland donor has been tested and found negative for HBsAg, HIV-1 Ag, anti-HIV-1/2, and anti-HCV by FDA accepted methods.
Because no test method can offer complete assurance that HIV, HBsAg, HCV or other infectious agents are absent, this material should be handled at the Biosafety Level 2 as recommended for any potentially infectious human serum or blood specimen in the CDC/NIH manual “Biosafey in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories”, 1999.
Suggested reconstitution buffer is 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, 150 mM Sodium Chloride, 1 mg/ml BSA, 0.1% Sodium Azide, pH 7.4.
